With the current climate in America with the never ending oppression that people of color face all around the world, I decided to record a cover of Nina Simone's Strange Fruit song. Although the song is about the lynching of Negroes a century ago, it is still so prevalent today with the current murders of our people; our black, hispanic and native indigenous men, women and children. I pray this recording will get people thinking of the pattern of events by the hands of the Israelites enemies; the Caucasian race specifically and all the nations who hate us.

My version of Strange Fruit, first performed by Billie Holiday, then years after, Nina Simone. My vocal abilities match Ms Simone's more, so I chose her version to sing.

Southern trees
bearing strange fruit

Blood on the leaves
and blood at the roots

Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze
Strange fruit hanging
from the poplar trees

Pastoral scene
of the gallant south

Them big bulging eyes
and the twisted mouth

Scent of magnolia,
clean and fresh

Then the sudden smell
of burning flesh

Here is fruit
for the crows to pluck

For the rain to gather,
for the wind to suck

For the sun to rot,
for the leaves to drop

Here is a strange
and bitter crop
